In the early 2000s, GCW created a program called the “EI Forum” to provide educational and career development for Engineering Interns (EIs) within the firm. The program consisted of monthly meetings that included presentations and discussions on a variety of topics ranging from GCW’s history, structure, and policies and procedures to mentoring, project management, and the business side of engineering. After suspending the program due to the recession, we are excited to announce that GCW has reinstated the program with the recognition of this group’s importance to the continued future success of GCW.
The group’s first task was to rename the EI Forum to reflect its significance to GCW’s future. After splitting into three teams, the EIs were asked to come up with their own name and logo. Each team presented their concepts to the group. Following the presentations, the group voted for the name “NXT GCW” to best represent the next chapter of GCW’s bright future.
