GCW World Market Center

The World Market Center is an ongoing GCW project involving the civil design of the infrastructure including storm drain, water distribution, fire protection, power, and gas for the complex being developed on 57 acres at Parkway Center in Downtown Las Vegas. The World Market Center will span over 12 million square feet in 8 buildings when completed in 2012, and is anticipated to be the largest and most comprehensive new home and furnishings complex in the Western United States. GCW was also involved in the event planning for the World Market Center debut, including traffic control plans for bus, taxi, and private auto circulation, pedestrian crossings, and project buildout analyses. Planning elements involved determining capacity and recommending lane configurations at major cross streets; layout design for temporary parking areas and traffic control devices; preparing permit applications; and coordinating among the City of Las Vegas, Metropolitan Police Department, parking and shuttle bus providers, and the owner’s representatives.
