As a subconsultant, GCW provided utility coordination and design, drainage
analysis/design, traffic engineering/signal design, lighting analysis/design, and
structural services. Included drainage analysis and design for 7 main-corridor
segments and affected adjacent arterials; arterial improvements of full depth
pavement replacement/rehabilitation, grading design, storm drain facilities, sewer/
waterline relocations, striping, special overhead guide signing, new/modified traffic
signals, and ITS improvements. Structural services included design for a single-span
concrete bridge on drilled shafts over Tropicana Wash, and numerous drainage
structures including modified drop inlets, concrete box culverts, rectangular/
trapezoidal concrete channels, junction structures, and cover slab over 1,990 ft
of existing USACE channel, a large portion of which is the riding surface of the
freeway. Project involved coordination with NDOT, CCPW, design team members,
contractor, and utilities.
