GCW provided civil, structural, and electrical engineering services for this $10.6 million turnkey park project developed by the Public-Private-Partnership of Pulte Homes and the City of Henderson. The 19-acre park is located within the 487-acre Madeira Canyon master-planned community at Democracy Drive and Canyon Retreat Drive, adjacent to a future school site. The site incorporates two ball fields, two soccer fields, four horseshoe pits, two full-sized basketball courts, four tennis courts, security-fenced tot lot, general playground, multi-purpose open turf area, barbeques, restrooms, and numerous Ramada shade areas for picnics and group gatherings. The park also includes a specially designed water play area that features splash pads, water rainbows, water trees, water cannons and waterfalls. A trail system links the various park amenities. These concrete walking paths include stairs as well as ramps to meet ADA requirements and to facilitate maintenance. There are two separate parking lots with trash enclosures and a maintenance yard.

GCW services included parking lot design, hydrology study and storm drain design, water and sewer utilities design, lighting support, structural engineering design, and traffic study. Because of the existing slope constraints (approximately 100 ft of fall across the site), GCW provided extensive grading, terracing, and the utilization of retaining walls. GCW also provided extensive coordination between client, landscape architect, and the City of Henderson.
