This project consisted of survey and civil engineering services for both the on-site and off-site improvements. The project included topographical field survey, utility research, utility design, site grading, PS & E preparation, bidding assistance, and construction support services. GCW also assisted in the development of a concept plan during the schematic design phase. The project was designed to have strong pedestrian connections to the University and Maryland Pkwy. Pedestrian-friendly street improvements included Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacons (RRFBs), ADA-compliant sidewalk upgrades, directional perpendicular ramps and ADA-compliant traffic signal modifications at University Road and Maryland Parkway. Work also included turn path analyses and geometric design to accommodate ingress and egress of transit vehicles.
